Geotechnical Services

Tritech Rail provides an integrated geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy and allied technical services for private and public sector property development, civil engineering schemes, and large railway projects. We also provide solutions for ground-based problems that affect land, buildings and infrastructure and for the protection of the environment.

We seek to provide practical and cost-effective solutions based upon the use of a well-balanced team including specialists, in fields like geophysics, hydrogeology, numerical analysis and risk assessment, and more general practitioners in site investigation and site characterisation and appraisal. A summary of the services we can provide are as follows:

• Desk Studies involving the review of available information and walkovers for initial site assessments.
• Planning & Contaminated Land Issues and supervision of ground investigations.
• Review and comment on geotechnical reports prepared by others.
• Ground investigations including: bore holes, trial pits, in situ testing, etc. Factual and interpretative reporting of revealed information.
• Monitoring of groundwater and landfill gases.
• Description and preparation of logs by qualified Geologists to the BS5930 standard.
• Implementation and specification of soil, rock and chemical testing programmes.
• Geotechnical advice and design
• Use of Non-Intrusive means, such as GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and traditional geophysical methods
